MG was well-received, gaining confidence and good feedback in the Motor Expo 2015

Bangkok, December 15, 2015 – SAIC Motor-CP Co., Ltd. and MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and official distributor of world renowned British automobile “MG”, today announced the number of MG cars booked in the Motor expo 2015. The total number of bookings during 1-13 December 2015 is at 1,288, where 60% are the MG3 Hatchback two-tone “Yellow-Black”, “Red-White”, and “Blue-White”, while the New MG5 and the New MG6 make up for the other 30% and 10%, respectively. And MG is beginning to deliver the booked cars to the customers as soon as possible.

“The total number of MG cars booked in the Motor Expo 2015 has proved to be satisfactory and successful, another important step into the Thai automobile market. Every model of MG cars has gained much popularity and good acceptance from Thai customers. We understand that they want to buy a decent car with high standard, modern design, top performance, high level of safety, fully packed options, all at affordable price, and MG is the ultimate answer to their desire,” said Mr. Wu Huan, President of SAIC-Motor CP Co., Ltd.

Currently, the total number of MG cars sold since January this year until November is at 2,828, not to mention the others 1,288 cars booked in the Motor Expo 2015. Among the cars sold, the MG3 gains the most popularity, at 2,505 cars, while the New MG6 has the total number at 292 cars. The recently launched New MG5 is beginning to gain momentum. 

“Now MG is at its flourishing state, and we look forward to becoming a leading car manufacturer in Thailand. Since the past 3 years, we have built the foundations for the business in every facet, including manufacturing quality, the application of modern technology in production lines, the supply chain development, the growing of dealer networks, sales and marketing, and after-sales services, aiming to strengthen the customers’ confidence and satisfaction. That said, one of the major plans being implemented is the signing of the land contract to buy 437.5 rai of land in the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 2, Chonburi Province. Situated on the land will be the new manufacturing plant of SAIC Motor-CP. Upon completion, it is expected to be the MG car manufacturing centre of ASEAN, distributing MG cars to both Thai and regional markets.
