Bangkok – 25 March 2024 – SAIC Motor-CP and MG Sales (Thailand), manufacturer and distributor of MG cars in Thailand, celebrate the 100th anniversary and continue to create a vibrant landscape in the automotive industry with the launch of the NEW MG CYBERSTER, an electric right-hand-drive two-seat sport roadster, for the first time in ASEAN. The company also creates a big surprise with the launch of the electric hatchback NEW MG4 ELECTRIC, led by XPOWER, and two domestically manufactured models named STANDARD RANGE and LONG RANGE, as well as the mid-size E-MPV the NEW MG MAXUS 7 and the newly-designed sport sedan NEW MG5 PRO, featuring the sleek look and largest cabin in the segment. The four models are to be unveiled and showcased as the highlight at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show (Motor Show 2024), scheduled to take place from 27 March to 7 April at the MG Booth (A8), Challenger 3, Impact Muang Thong Thani.

NEW MG CYBERSTER: Celebrating MG’s 100th anniversary with the launch of the EV sport roadster for the first time in ASEAN  

“THE LEGEND IS BACK”. The NEW MG CYBERSTER, an electric two-seat convertible sport roadster, has chronicled a new legend as part of the company’s 100th anniversary celebration campaign titled “CHARGING INTO THE FUTURE”, a mission carried out by “THE TURNER TWINS” who journeyed for over 16,000 kilometers across 25 countries with Thailand as one of the destinations they stopped by in early March. And today the right-handed NEW MG CYBERSTER
is ready to be unveiled for the first time in ASEAN. As MG’s flagship model to penetrate the global EV market, the NEW MG CYBERSTER is outstanding for its design by SAIC’s Advanced Design Studio in London, the United Kingdom, featuring eye-catching scissor doors with on-off touch button, soft-top roof, sleek Eye of the Storm front grille, Union Jack flag-inspired tail lights and curvy linesmon the side. The model also comes with 20-inch alloy wheels, two-tone interior decorated with Soft Touch materials, Y-Shape ergonomic seats made from premium materials like Nappa-Alcantara leather and is also packed with cutting-edge technology including 7-inch Dashboard Triple-Screen featuring two 7-inch and one 10.25-inch screens with i-SMART systems as well as Bose audio system with 8 speakers. In terms of performance, the NEW MG CYBERSTER is powered by a 4WD dual motor setup which produces a peak output of 544 hp (400kW) and a peak torque of 725 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h within only 3.2 seconds. The model also comes with Ultra-Thin Rubik's Cube with the capacity of 77 kWh with an estimated NEDC range of 503 kilometers on one full charge. Also featured are disc brakes on all wheels, independent Double Wishbone front suspension, independent Multi-link rear suspension and 26 ADVANCED SYNCHRONIZED PROTECTION SYSTEMS and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

NEW MG4 ELECTRIC: Adding to the success of the “Popular global EV”

NEW MG4 ELECTRIC, a pure electric hatchback created under the concept of “ICON”, sets a new definition and standard for a fun-to-drive electric vehicle. Developed on the EV-exclusive NEBULA PURE ELECTRIC PLATFORM, the model also features symmetric 50:50 weight distribution with Low Centre of Gravity as well as independent McPherson Strut front suspension and independent 5-Link rear suspension to enhance maneuverability. The model also comes with 26 European-standard ADVANCED SYNCHRONIZED PROTECTION SYSTEMS. Adding to the success of the iconic NEW MG4 ELECTRIC, the company also unveils the XPOWER model that features an electric 4WD dual motor setup, producing a peak output of 435 hp (320 kW) and a peak torque of 600 Nm. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h within only 3.8 seconds. With its 64 kWh (NMC) Rubik’s Cube Battery, the model has an estimated NEDC range of 480 kilometers on one full charge. Available in the new Wild Hunter Green body color with two-tone Blacktop roof, the model comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and premium synthetic Alcantara materials for a sporty look. One Pedal System is also exclusively available in the XPOWER model.

The locally-manufactured model STANDARD RANGE (49kWh) has an estimated NEDC range of 423 kilometers on one full charge while the LONG RANGE model (64kWh) has an estimated NEDC range of 540 kilometers on one full charge. Dubbed “THE BEST ENJOYABLE EV”, both models feature an electric motor that produces a peak output of 170 hp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. Additional functions and features include speed-sensing ADAPTIVE GRILLE to keep the engine cool, rear window wiper, 12-inch full-color touchscreen (upgraded from 10.25 inches), cup holders at car door and 3 Assist Grips. The STANDARD RANGE model comes with 17-inch alloy wheels with AERO WHEEL COVER while the LONG RANGE model features 18-inch alloy wheels and new Fizzy Orange body color.

NEW MG MAXUS 7: Mid-size E-MPV ideal for modern families

The Motor Show 2024 also showcases the NEW MG MAXUS 7, a 7-seat mid-size E-MPV featuring highly advanced functions and features as well as its outstanding MG MAXUS Series design elements including electric sliding doors and electric tailgate that can be hidden from view when open, dual panoramic sunroof, luxuriously minimal black-brown interior, double layer console with glass holders and wireless charger, 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat and VIP captain seats on the second row in a more spacious cabin. Furthermore, other features are also incorporated for more driving comfort including connecting 12.3-inch full-color touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto multimedia connectivity, and Vehicle to Load (V2L) system at the output of 6.6 Kw. Standing out as an automotive excellence, the NEW MG MAXUS 7 is powered by an electric motor that produces a peak output of 245 hp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The model also comes with Cell-To-Pack Lithium-ion battery with the capacity of 90 kWh, able to drive a maximum distance of 480 kilometers on one full charge, according to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) standard. Prior to its official launch, pre-booking is also available for the NEW MG MAXUS 7 where customers can make their booking via MG’s online channels from 25 March until 30 April, plus a special privilege where the booking fee of 10,000 baht can be redeemed as a 20,000-baht discount.

NEW MG5 PRO is a sport coupe sedan where new eye-catching design elements are incorporated including new Black Chrome Gladius Grille Design, Smoke Chrome material all over the body,
17-inch black alloy wheels, newly-designed LED headlamps and tail lights and the most spacious cabin in the segment. Packed with cutting edge functions and design, the model features Driver-Focus cockpit that perfectly fits the driver’s position, 6-direction electric adjustable driver’s seat, large sunroof, dedicated air vents for rear passengers, 10-inch full-color touchscreen, 7-inch Digital Multi-Function Display, Apple CarPlay and Android wireless connectivity and Digital Key technology which can be controlled via the i-SMART application. In terms of safety, the model comes with European-standard ADVANCED SYNCHRONIZED PROTECTION SYSTEMS, disc brakes on all wheels, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), 3D Around View Monitor, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Traction Control System, Hill Start Assist (HSA) and 6 airbags.
